Jordanas Barcius

"Nature is the greatest artist, and our hands are merely its followers, crafting reflections of its masterpieces."
Jordanas Barcius
Jordanas Barcius, a well-know artist born in 1975 in Samogitia (Zemaitija), has long been captivated by the natural world, which deeply influences his art. His remarkable creations often feature aged oak, found in the sea, intricately adorned with amber and deer bone, imbuing them with profound cultural significance. These works reflect the essence of Lithuanian spirit and tradition.
From an early age, Jordan’s artistic journey began at the Ciurlionis Art School. After completing his studies, he moved to the seaside and discovered a passion for amber, which quickly became central to his craft. Initially creating jewelry—necklaces, bracelets, and pendants—he later transitioned to larger artistic pieces, combining wood, amber, and other natural elements to create an extraordinary fusion of nature and art.
Jordanas is a proud member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists' Union and the "Creators-Masters Republic" association. His work is regularly exhibited, and he shares his artistic knowledge through educational workshops and cultural events. His artistry continues to evolve, driven by a deep respect for natural materials and a commitment to honoring Lithuania's cultural heritage.
